Putting an end to fast fashion
The fashion industry is riddled with inefficiencies and unethical practices all around the world. Many of the companies exploit prison or foreign labor to lower the prices of their products along with misusing large amounts of water and energy on these products. Every shirt made costs the planet anywhere from two to six kilograms of CO2, not even mentioning the impacts on land and water of producing the cotton and polyester.
The big idea to end fast fashion is to diminish purchasing from unethical and unsustainable companies. These companies put out a new trend and new fashion every year or season to encourage buyers to lean in to the "hype" and buy their new clothes. We're encouraging organizations to lean away from the tendencies of buying shirts for every event and look into ways to reduce their textile purchases and their overall budget.

What's better than buying used clothes? Making them your own! The best way to make sure your clothes are unique is through up-cycling. Up-cycling is the recycling of items and making them into something better. There are thousands of ways to take any old items and transform them into something better! A big problem in fast fashion is the purchasing of clothes, but another huge problem is that of clothing discarding. By taking your old clothes, like your old decrepit shoes or your dad's old jeans, and putting designs on them or bleaching parts of them, you can create brand new styles without buying something new!
