Projects for GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY
Engineers for a SUstainable WOrldEngineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) is one of Cornell's engineering project teams dedicated to developing and promoting meaningful, innovative solutions to the sustainability challenges. They take on local and global student-driven projects focused in Solar Powered Solutions, Renewable Energy Design, and Biofuels. Each semester, they organize 1) an expert speaker series open to the public composed of professors, community leaders, and industry partners to raise awareness of Ithaca and New York sustainability initiatives, and 2) regular tours of the Ithaca area to advocate the local sustainable routines that can inspire us to do better. Finally, ESW actively recognizes the global importance of sustainability and takes their projects overseas to develop, implement, and publicize green solutions in rural areas such as in Managua, Nicaragua.

Cornell University Sustainable DesignFounded in 2009, Cornell University Sustainable Design (CUSD) is a systems engineering project team of student architects, designers, strategists, and engineers motivated to make an impact in sustainability. They pull in backgrounds from all seven colleges at Cornell to stand as an interdisciplinary network proactive about making communities sustainable. Their teams strive to create innovative solutions to social, ecological, and economic difficulties faced on a global scale. Their current projects include the Ithaca Carbon Neutral 2030 Policy, Sustainable Mobility through redesigning public transportation, Sustainable Education Nepal, and Alternative Recycling Cornell. While they make a long-lasting impact by mobilizing students through their college years, they also strive to equip their members with the skills to professionally engage with the real world of sustainability and contribute to innovative solutions internationally.

Material Management
Cornell thriftCornell Thrift is a student organization committed to reducing campus-wide material waste. They achieve this by redistributing reusable personal items, including clothing, electronics, household products, and furniture that otherwise would end up in the dumpster. You can see their efforts across campus including "free-pile" concepts in university cooperative housing and the annual Dump-and-Run sale. They are motivated to make thrifting an easy experience accessible to every Cornell student no matter where they reside, so pop-ups of Ezra's Closet can be found all over campus where donated goods can be exchanged for something free, new and special. They not only provide ways for Cornell students to reduce waste during their college years; they equip students with the skills they need to minimize their waste in their lives through interactive material upcycling and repair workshops.

Cornell CompostCornell Compost is a student-run organization dedicated to making composting easily accessible to all members of the Cornell community. They work alongside Cornell Campus Sustainability Office to address all possible composting needs. With presentations, speaker series, and interactive workshops, they can help student organizations implement composting for their large- and small-scale events. This club has made a significant impact in Cornell's overall material management and thus in long-term sustainability goals by drastically reducing food waste.
